Posh Paws

01-811-8055

When growing up Saturday morning was always spent watching Multi-Coloured Swap Shop. Filmed live at the BBC TV Center. Well it brings to mind another weekend venture: looking at old bike parts in grass fields and tin huts at various County Fairgrounds. Always a fun jaunt and good place to pick up that odd or end needed for a project. Couple of good posters for this coming year’s offerings.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the leafy boondocks

A rusty patina accumulates

Someone would certainly have their work cut out for themselves with this bedraggled specimen. Texas plates so answers to the name of “Bubba”.

Dan’s Secret Stash

Piled behind some old Ford pistons and cam shafts. This Commando is in serious need of attention. Working on a plan to acquire it from my brother in law…

A Verdant Workshop

Falcon

– another photo of Ewan and his favorite marque. This is a caféd Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone. The famous bacon slicer flywheel obvious on the drive side. The green color scheme of the workshop furniture even matches the fuel tank.

Generational Learning

Early memories are being shown by my father how to accomplish dexterous tasks such as repairing a flat, wiring a plug, hammering a nail or drilling a hole. It gave me the confident enthusiasm to take on tasks needing a mechanical ken or practical gumption.

Man Cave

Winter Projects | with the oncoming off-season approaching I need to get the garage space organized. With limited space careful planning will ensure efficiency. A leaking roof needs to be addressed too.

The Ballad of Easy Rider

Rat Bike | a bag of odds ‘n’ ends combined into a particular taste in machinery. An oily rag special which just needs the long straight highways of the SW States to draw out its nuanced style.

The river flows, it flows to the sea
Wherever that river goes that’s where I want to be
Flow river flow, let your waters wash down
Take me from this road to some other town

Homeless

Bill’s new project – forlorn in the corner of some prefab garage sits a worse for wear Triumph chopper. Plenty of mid seventies elbow grease to revive its mechanical working from storage decrepitude… Mr Ferry, ready for a money pit?

Dapper

Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride – this years gathering brought many bikers together for a global-wide event now in its 5th or 6th year. Raising money and awareness for prostate cancer as men’s suicide rates it lets owners show off their togs as well as their rides. The route took the large group out through downtown to Lake Shore Drive and back to the Cobra Lounge on Ashland.

It’ll buff out!

Rocket Three B&W – seem better days and in need of TLC; this 1970 BSA Triple is languishing at Ed Zender’s. A decent project for some unsuspecting soul willing to trade sanity for the chance to own a fairly rare motorcycle.

Et tu Brute?

Beware the Ides of March- located at 7922 State St Midvale Utah lies the overburdened establishment known as Caesar’s Motorcycle Empire. Local character Caesar Boswell was connected with Draper Widowmaker Hillclimb and was a source of parts and information on many makes of bike. It’s like an Aladdin’s Cave for two-wheeled aficionados.
